Resident Commissioner Pablo José Hernández Inaugurates His District Office in Caguas
CAGUAS, P.R. – Today, the Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, Pablo José Hernández Rivera, officially inaugurated his district office in Caguas, reaffirming his commitment to accessibility and direct service to the people. The Resident Commissioner's event was attended by members of the U.S. Congress, former governors, a former resident commissioner, mayors, legislators, and most importantly, the people of Puerto Rico.
“Good morning, Puerto Rico. They took us out of the Capitol, but they brought us closer to the people. We left the capital, where the head of Puerto Rico’s government is, and we settled in Caguas, where the center and heart of the people of Puerto Rico are,” said Hernández Rivera.
During the opening, Hernández Rivera emphasized the importance of his office as a space where Puerto Ricans can receive support on key federal matters and directly channel their concerns to their congressional representation.
Hernández Rivera highlighted his focus on bipartisan collaboration to address Puerto Rico’s challenges and his commitment to defending the rights of workers, veterans, immigrants, seniors, and young people. He also emphasized his efforts to promote incentives to strengthen the local economy and his work on federal legislation to improve access to essential benefits and resources.
With the opening of this office, the Resident Commissioner seeks to provide assistance in areas such as Social Security, veterans’ benefits, nominations to military academies, and support for small businesses. Hernández Rivera reiterated that this is a key step in ensuring that Puerto Ricans have effective representation and direct access to solutions for their needs.
